Prayer Fellowship – Our next Prayer Fellowship meeting is scheduled for tomorrow,Sat. Nov. 15 at 8a.m. in the Resource Centre. Everyone is welcome to join us as we pray for personal concerns, members of the congregation and community, as well as national and global issues.

This Sunday – Grant Wilson will continue his series “GOSPEL”. Part Two is titled “Home after Exile”.

Operation Christmas Child (OCC) – This Sunday is the last day to bring Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to St. Paul’s. We are delivering them to Kanata Bible Church next week. If you are not able to return your shoebox this Sunday, please call 1-800-303-1269 to find a drop-off centre near you.

Special Congregational Meeting- Session has called a special congregational meeting for this Sun. Nov. 16, 2014 following the traditional service. Congregants will recall that in June 2011 we called the Rev. Phil Kim to the position of Assistant Minister at St. Paul’s for a term of 3 years. As that term has expired, Session is recommending we extend the term to Dec. 31, 2015. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss and vote on a motion to extend Phil’s term as Assistant Minister at St. Paul’s to the end of 2015.

Donations to the Ottawa Mission – Hank Vander Velde has three 2015 wildlife wall calendars he is offering for FREE to anyone wishing to make a donation to The Ottawa Mission. One calendar for $20 provides SEVEN meals! Even if you don’t need a calendar, please consider making a donation. All proceeds go directly to The Mission. To date, approximately $1,320 has been donated. The goal is $2,000 (which provides seven hundred hot meals). Please see Hank in Campbell Hall on Sundays November 16 and 23to make your donation and receive your free calendar.

Pioneer Clubs Prayer Pals Night – All Pioneer Clubs Prayer Pals are invited to join us on Thurs. Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Come and meet the child you are praying for and enjoy a fun evening with them along with songs and a snack.

“Where’s Waldo” Volunteers Required – Seeking volunteers for November 21 from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. to assist with a special Youth Group activity – “Where’s Waldo” at Bayshore Mall. No specific skills required! All you need to do is commit to browsing around Bayshore Mall while the youth try to find you. Please contact Melissa Smith.

Caring for Parents of Teens – St. Paul’s has started a support group for parents of teens. If you, as a parent, would like to join us, we invite you to Kathy and Derek Jonker’s home (891 Hare Avenue) this Friday, November 21 at 6:00 p.m. Drop your teen off at St. Pauls, then “c’mon” over to the Jonker’s home. St. Paul’s Book Circle – Our next Book Circle will take place on December 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fireside room. We will be discussing Patrick Sookhdeo’s book The Challenge of Islam to the Church and Its Mission. This book explains clearly some of the thinking behind certain rituals and practices of the Islam faith and how these actually reflect on the Christian church. On the book cover it says…”This book is written for Christians in the west, as they seek to think through these issues and respond to the challenge in a way which is wise, loving, Biblical, effective and Christ-like.” Christmas goodies will be available to share. Christmas Connection- You are invited to attend a catered turkey dinner onSaturday, November 22 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Campbell Hall. Special music, a carol sing and an inspiring talk by Grant Wilson will feature in this festive event. Tickets will be on sale for $10 per person in the narthex on Sundays November 2, 9 and 16. Gluten-free meals are available and transportation can be arranged if needed. Please take this opportunity to include and invite others to enjoy this special time with those in our St. Paul’s family as we prepare for Advent and the coming Christmas season. The planning committee is looking for some musicians to play a few pieces (classic, christmas or worship) while appetizers are served (5:20 – 6:00pm). Music or partners for a duet or small ensemble can be arranged if desired.

St. Paul’s is hosting a Congregational Retreat at Camp Galilee Bible Camp on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
There will be a variety of activities for all age groups
so it’s guaranteed to be a great day for faith, fellowship and fun.

Ages 0-4: Free
Ages 5-12: $10.00
Grades 7-12 & UCC: $50.00 (It will be a FULL weekend retreat for this group. More details to follow soon.)
Adults: $30.00
Seniors: $25.00
